Taka's Ancestor Homework is almost done! Just One more left "Ancestor Interview". You have to ask some question to your ancestor. Taka Speaks both English and Japanese but it is difficult to translate for him so I asked those question to my Grandpa by e-mail and Taka and I talk about in Japanese then he write in English. Hopefully we are able to finish this week.
By the way picture is an Ancestor Doll. There was a rule you can use the material whatever you want but no painting. So we used Origami paper, yarn and macaroni. Taka thinks it is "Momo Taro (A Peach Boy)".

Dear Kaori,
Perhaps the adjective that's most befitting Taka is the word, "Privileged." Privileged to have the nurturing mother so responsive to his needs; privileged to straddle and spend a portion of each year in two different cultures; and privileged to possess the disposition amenable to developing and capitalizing on those attributes.
Kaori, what do you think of Taka making his presentation in both English and Japanese? Not to be a "show off" but to, hopefully, spark one of his classmates to acquire proficiency in a second language? And, if you are able to record (DVD) his presentation, it will serve as bragging fodder, especially for his relatives in Japan!
Love,
Uncle Al

Uncle, Al!
How are you?
thank you for your comment and suggetion.
Lukly, the part we live right now, there are many kids speaks second language, most of them are Asian. So Taka does not think he is special he thinks everyone speacks 2~3 language.
But I suggest to Taka to do the presentation in Japanese so my family can see those when the project come back. They are alredy in the school...
Take care!
